Introduction

We never stop learning in our life. After completing my studies in 2017, I was eager to find a company where I could work and continue learning. ABT is a multidisciplinary company with very broad and at the same time in-depth knowledge. This makes it the perfect place to develop different areas of knowledge. ABT’s great and challenging projects also provide the opportunity to apply this knowledge directly in practice.

What I do at ABT

At ABT I am mainly concerned with the geotechnical problems of (inner-city) U-building and with the sustainability of underground construction. We are always looking for the best solution for projects, taking into account environmental factors, subsoil, construction and environmental impact.

During my time at ABT, I have seen many different projects, some small ‘mono’-disciplinary projects and other large projects requiring an integrated approach. A good combination of engineering and partnership!

My dream for the future

Since I was young, I have been interested in everything related to technology. While studying Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology, I focused on geotechnical engineering with the master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering. After all, every civil engineering design has to be put something. Geotechnical engineering is the basis for everything we build. It creates an enormously challenging interface between subsoil and construction. The current environmental issues made me an advocate of ‘sustainable design’ of buildings. To me it is only a matter of time before Environmental impact will be added to the standard design criteria of Time, Cost, and Risk.
