Introduction

Since 2012, I have worked in hydraulic engineering, focusing on water safety. I have put my experience to use at ABT since 2022, before that I worked for TAUW. I have worked on dike reinforcements within the Flood Protection Program throughout the country, mainly in exploration phases and plan execution phases as a consultant, design leader or technical manager.

What I do at ABT

I use my knowledge and experience primarily as a design leader or consultant within two-phase contracts with contractors. In addition, I am a specialist in the field of water retaining structures. As such I have been involved in the reinforcement and assessment of water retaining structures within various standard projects. My quality is that I know all phases of the projects on both client and contractor sides; this makes me a connector within the projects. In those projects, I have a keen eye for the integral picture.

My dream for the future

Interplay between environment and technology is extremely important to me: designing a safe dike with minimal impact on the environment, for both local residents and the environment, during construction and the use phase. Each dike reinforcement has its specific characteristics and challenges. This keeps my work varied and exciting!
