Introduction

My name is Marco van der Ploeg. My passion lies in making extraordinary ambitions feasible within integrated project teams. This passion was ignited during my studies in Architecture and Building Technology. There, I discovered that you can make a difference in projects precisely at the intersections between knowledge areas. Especially in this time where the impact of choices is increasingly felt, both within the project and socially.

What I do at ABT

From that vision, I have focused on integrated design leadership. I seek my challenge in realizing our client’s ambitions in a goal-oriented and groundbreaking way. Central to this is that collaboration is about people. Challenging each other to come up with innovative solutions is part of that. Sometimes the innovation lies in the technology, sometimes in the process. In all cases, the challenge must serve your project.

My dream for the future

I strive for a project team where the boundaries between participants fade and a sense of a common goal arises. This creates a fertile ground for better projects and personal development of the participants. I don’t want to create buildings for today but buildings for tomorrow.
