Introduction

After studying building technology at TU Delft, I started working at ABT. I still do this with great pleasure. The integrated work with other disciplines within ABT and Oosterhoff gives me a lot of energy. During my graduation research, I delved into the environmental impact of materials. My goal is to design comfortable, healthy, and sustainable buildings. At ABT, I have specialized in building physics and acoustics.

What I do at ABT

Within ABT, I am a  manager in building physics and acoustics. I have specialized in biobased materials, including CLT. These are sustainable materials with a low environmental impact, but where the building physics aspects are very important to consider, including sound and moisture. I contribute to designing and advising on the right materials, finishes, and detailing.

I am also part of the core team of the Building Physics, Acoustics, and Fire Safety department, where I am responsible for knowledge sharing, innovation, planning, and quality within the group.

My dream for the future

Amsterdam Court

Amsterdam Court

The new court in Amsterdam merges three worlds, which at the same time are to operate strictly separated: the judiciary, the detainees and the visitors. As partner of consortium NACH (New Amsterdam Court House), ABT signed on to design, build, finance, maintain and operate this imposing building on Parnassusweg in Amsterdam. It takes partnership to build an icon!

Transformation of Hoog Lindoduin

The residential building Hoog Lindoduin was subjected to a major renovation and sustainability project commissioned by Vestia. The 182-unit gallery apartment was made gas-free and the living plan, comfort, sound insulation, fire safety and aesthetic appearance were greatly improved. The building was stripped down to the existing 1963 concrete shell, but the main load-bearing structure remained intact. ABT was integral technical consultant.

POST Rotterdam

The POST Rotterdam project in the heart of the city center involves the renovation of one of the city’s most important historical buildings; the former main post office. Together with the adjacent town hall, it is one of the few buildings that remained standing after the bombing at the beginning of World War II. After a long period of vacancy, the national monument is now being fully restored.
