Julien Demiray

Introduction

My name is Julien Demiray. In 2010, I completed my MSc in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences at TU Delft. With over fifteen years of experience as a Design Director at international firms in Shanghai and Hong Kong, I joined ABT in 2025. I believe that the major challenges of our time can only be advanced if design and engineering work together to steer energy, digitalization, and spatial quality in the built environment.

What I do at ABT

Within ABT, I work on the integrated design direction of complex construction projects. My role lies at the intersection of vision and feasibility, and in translating ambitions into realizable solutions. I focus on connecting user needs and organizational goals, with specific attention to the integration of energy systems into the design.

My dream for the future

I want to contribute to a built environment that adapts to societal and economic developments. For me, this means adaptive systems in which energy and digital issues are a natural part of the spatial design. Within ABT, I see the opportunity to realize that ambition by further mobilizing multidisciplinary collaboration and increasing our visibility in new markets. My goal is to continue developing design leadership as an integral discipline: strategic, connecting, and focused on impact.
