Introduction

From a young age, I have found construction and engineering interesting. My position as a civil engineering specialist at ABT, is a perfect combination of both disciplines. I started working here in 2007 after my bachelor’s Civil Engineering at the Arnhem University of Applied Sciences. In 2010, I successfully completed the course Concrete Structural Engineer.

What I do at ABT

I now have more than fourteen years of experience in engineering new (concrete) structures, upgrading existing structures, analysing damage projects. And engineering and project management of wind turbine projects as well. Within these challenges, I work very flexibly and meticulously and I am a team player on the larger projects. In addition to my work as an engineer and project leader, I am head of the knowledge group Civil Engineering and serve on the Works Council.

I am actively engaged in upgrading existing structures using carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) adhesive reinforcement. My roles are structural engineer and project manager. In addition to using traditional products such as slats and sheets, I try to apply new products such as basalt fibres. Currently, adhesive reinforcement is very interesting as it is still a relatively unknown product in the Netherlands. There is a great deal to develop and discover. All of this matches ABT’s pioneering approach.

My dream for the future

In addition to my work as an engineer and project leader, I am head of the knowledge group Civil Engineering and serve on the Works Council. My passion and goal is to enjoy our work and have maximum job satisfaction with the group.
